Toeletta Anni ’40 Mirror from the 1940’s
We Italians are a mixture of technology and history, of ancient and modern. We carry within us a centuries-old cultural and artistic baggage. We are excellences in various fields and it comes naturally to us because, genetically, we have absorbed a unique history that other countries envy us. In this mix of old and new I find myself in full and I realize that I manifest it above all in painting.
Walking around this wonderful city, which is Rome, you realize how much art there is and a Roman feature are the decorated or historiated buildings.
One day, passing from Piazza Navona, I took via di Tor Millina: looking up at the tower, which I knew and knew had decorations, my eyes stretched two buildings further and saw the splendid palace decorated with grotesques.
I had recently bought two old dressing tables with mirrors and restored them, I just had to figure out how to personalize them. Back home, I began to work on it and these two decorations came out, one in color and the other in grisaille.
