Dama del Pollaiolo
Quando una cara amica di mia madre, appassionata di vecchi mobili, mi disse di andare nella sua soffitta e vedere se c’era qualcosa che potesse interessarmi, andai di corsa. Venni attratta da questa piccola seduta rifinita con paglia viennese un po’ logorata dal tempo. Me la immaginai subito sotto un’altra veste. Tolta la paglietta, rifatto un nuovo piano di legno e dipinto sopra il rifacimento di un quadro di dama del ‘400. La donna come tema ricorrente delle mie rapprentazioni. La donna nella storia: icona o archetipo in continua evoluzione.
Ecco la seduta trasformata in un piccolo tavolo da thè.

Piccolo tavolo in noce. Rifacimento del piano con lavabili a velatura. "Dama del Pollaiolo" reinterpretata da me.
Finitura a resina autolivellante.

When a dear friend of my mother’s, fond of old furniture, told me to go to her attic and see if there was anything that might interest me, I ran. I was attracted to this small seat finished with Viennese straw a little worn by time. I immediately imagined her under another guise. Removed the steel wool, redone a new wooden surface and painted over the reconstruction of a painting of a lady of the ‘400. The woman as a recurring theme of my representations. The woman in history: icon or archetype in continuous evolution.
